YOUR ACCOMMODATION

The suite is 30m² and accommodates up to 3 guests, featuring a double bed and a single bed. A configuration with three single beds can be requested at the time of booking, subject to confirmation.

The room offers split air conditioning, a Smart TV with cable and streaming channels, Wi-Fi, a wardrobe with hangers, blackout curtains, and included bed and bath linens.

The bathroom includes a hot water shower, toiletries (soap, shampoo, towels, and toilet paper), and a hairdryer.

The balcony features a hammock and a garden view. The guesthouse also provides a shared barbecue area, outdoor dining space, terrace, and a tree-filled patio with palm trees and outdoor tables.

CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT

Check-in: from 2:00 PM, with arrival until 10:00 PM. The front desk operates 24 hours a day. Please let us know your estimated arrival time in advance so everything can be prepared for you.

Check-out: by 12:00 PM. When leaving, please turn off the air conditioning and lights, dispose of any trash properly, and close the door.

If you need a different time, we will do our best to accommodate your request—please ask on the day of your check-in or check-out.

You may also secure early check-in (between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM) or late check-out (between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM) for an additional half-day rate, subject to availability and prior confirmation to avoid overbooking.

Arriving after 7:00 PM or before 9:00 AM and need in-person assistance from our team? A fee of R$ 150 applies after 7:00 PM; a fee of R$ 300 applies after midnight and before 9:00 AM.

ABOUT YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD

Barreirinhas serves as the gateway town to Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, located in northern Maranhão. The city is defined by the meeting point of the Preguiças River and the dunes: this is where tours depart for the lagoons, as well as Atins, Caburé, and Santo Amaro. The atmosphere is that of a large village — sandy streets, simple shops, riverside dining options, and a sky that offers the region's most beautiful sunsets.

The Boa Vista neighborhood is a quiet, residential area about 4 km from the city center, ensuring peaceful nights and quick car access to the riverfront and the Barreirinhas Pier.

FUN FACTS

Lençóis Maranhenses National Park was established in June 1981 and covers approximately 155,000 hectares, of which about 90,000 are moving white sand dunes interspersed with seasonal rainwater lagoons. The name "Lençóis" refers to the sheet-like appearance of the dunes when viewed from a distance. The Preguiças River, which runs through the city, also leads to the riverside villages of Vassouras, Mandacaru, and Caburé. Barreirinhas is the main access point to the park, making it one of the most popular nature destinations in the Northeast.

BEACHES AND NATURE

Barreirinhas does not have a sea beach — the main attractions are the lagoons and dunes of Lençóis and the Preguiças River. The most popular lagoons include Lagoa Bonita and Lagoa Azul, featuring white sand dunes and fresh water.

GASTRONOMY

Avenida Beira Rio is home to the most traditional restaurants, including A Canoa (number 300), O Jacaré (number 2), and O Bambu (number 203). Another notable spot is Restaurante Bambaê (Avenida Paulista, s/n), which offers transfer service by reservation.

CULTURE

The city preserves a strong riverside tradition, with June festivals, fiber handicrafts, and the local bumba-meu-boi folklore. The Barreirinhas Pier is the city's gathering spot at sunset.

TRANSPORTATION

Hello! To reach Barreirinhas, the main gateway to Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, you have the following air and land transportation options:

By Air:

Barreirinhas Airport (BRB): Azul operates regular flights with small aircraft (Cessna, capacity of 9 passengers), connecting Barreirinhas to São Luís and Parnaíba. Frequency and availability may vary, so it's advisable to check with the airline before your trip. Prices are generally higher for this route.

Santo Amaro Airport: There are no scheduled flights to Santo Amaro. Access is primarily by road from Barreirinhas.

Parnaíba Airport (PHB): Located in Piauí, about a 3.5-hour drive from Barreirinhas. This is a good alternative for those who also wish to visit the Parnaíba Delta.

Jericoacoara Airport (JJD): Located farther away (approximately 9 hours by car), this option is ideal for travelers planning to complete the Rota das Emoções.

São Luís International Airport - Marechal Cunha Machado (SLZ): This is the main airport for those visiting Lençóis Maranhenses, with direct flights arriving from several major Brazilian cities.

How to get from São Luís to Barreirinhas:

Transfer (Van or Minibus): This is the most common and convenient option. Shared or private transfers are available from the airport or hotels in São Luís. Be sure to check availability in advance. The trip takes about 4 hours via highways BR-135 and MA-402, which are mostly paved.

Public Bus: Cisne Branco operates the route between the São Luís bus station and Barreirinhas. The journey takes between 4.5 and 5 hours. To reach the bus station from the airport, you will need to use a taxi or another form of transportation.

Car Rental: You can rent a car at the São Luís airport and drive to Barreirinhas. The route is relatively straightforward along BR-135 and MA-402. Keep in mind that car use is limited in Barreirinhas itself, as tours in the park are conducted with certified 4x4 vehicles.

Getting Around in Barreirinhas

Within the city, transportation is mainly provided by taxis, ATVs, and 4x4 vehicles. ATVs are popular for exploring the dunes and lagoons, offering more freedom and access to remote areas. Taxis are also available to transport visitors to tourist spots and tours. The roads are paved and well-signed throughout nearly the entire route, ensuring a smooth journey.
